August 7, 2015 set off the 2nd year of collaboration between The Bhawanipur Education Society College and Yi YUVA, a vertical of CII for youth empowerment. The inaugural session of this collaboration named ‘Yi Bhawanipur Chaupal’ commenced with Siddhant Dugar, a third year student inviting the guests Mr. Saurabh Sureka, the Yi Chair Kolkata Chapter, Mr. Arpit Dhandhania, the Yi Yuva Coordinator and Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of Students Affairs of the college to take center stage. The session followed with an introductory speech by Prof. Dilip Shah, highlighting the importance of Entrepreneurship and the efforts made by the college in this regard also the upcoming activities initiated by the various collectives.
Mr. Jagan Nath, Yi member Kolkata Chapter educated the students through a Yi YUVA power point presentation about its objectives, vision, How to enroll, the 360 degree Leadership Programme, the Modules under it etc. briefing students about the various facets of it. The presentation answered most of the doubts arising among the students. Followed by a question answer round.
Post this, Mr. Saurabh Sureka, the Yi Chair – Kolkata chapter awed the students about the importance Yi Yuva will make in their lives through his own story as a college going kid and the luxuries we have today to cave out benefits and become successful. He also mentioned about the future programmes like the Industrial Visit to skipper Limited, Angel funding of Business plan by Yi Yuva, Meeting with Mr. Sanjeev Goenka, Selfie with Cleaners Contest and much more a remarkable start to this year.
Then, Kumar Popat, the Sarpanch of Bhawanipur Chaupal for 2014-15 shared his experience with the students about the Yi Yuva activities undertaken last year and the changes it bought in him as a leader and as an Entrepreneur.
The stage was then taken over by Mr. Arpit Dhandhania, the Yi Yuva coordinator for Bhawanipur Chaupal. He motivated the students about how big Yi is and what transformations Yi Yuva can bring in them. He also declared the Yi Yuva Student Coordinators for 2015-16 where, Siddhant Dugar was entrusted as the Sarpanch, Kinal Doshi as the Sah-Sarpanch and Shashank Agarwal as the Koshadhyaksh. He then gave certificates to Ex-Yi Yuva members for their active participation last year.
This marked the end of the inaugural with over 250 students being enriched with the valuable words shared and registrations were declared open.
