It’s time to learn Latin moves as Miss Soma Subedi was invited to conduct a workshop on the intriguing dance form of Salsa on the 19th of November 2022 at the College campus. The dance form takes its root in the mixture of Cuban dances like Mambo, Pachanga, and Rumba as well as American Dance forms like Tap. The sound of the crowd cheering to the instructor was heard from Jubilee Hall of the college which was used as the venue.
Ms. Subedi, the instructor who runs her own classes under the brand name ‘Subedi Salsa’ began introducing the participants to this dance form. She asked the participants to form a pair where music was played, and the instructor danced with her partner while the participants were asked to follow in her steps. During the workshop, Miss Soma taught the participants a unique salsa sequence on off-beat numbers.
Toward the end, all the dance steps were stitched together to see the participants perform the entire sequence. The participants were thrilled by this new accomplishment as they could tap their feet beyond their regular dancing skills and twist and turn to the dance form. The workshop concluded with Miss Soma’s felicitation by the Management and the participants applauded her dancing skills.
