Celluloid, The Filmmaking Collective organized an Interactive session with the full Star Cast of ‘Sohorer Ushnotomo Dine’ on 14th July,2023 at the Society Hall from 11 AM onwards. Actor Vikram Chatterjee, Actress Solanki Roy, Aritra Sen (Director), Actor Debopriyo Mukherjee, and Actor Rahul Dev Bose from the Bengali cinema industry interacted at the event regarding their new movie, which is based on friendship, love, relationship, and how it hampers when someone relocates to a different city for work. It is a coming-of-age love story focusing on Ritoban and Anindita, two people from Kolkata, and how after a tragic event, they reflect on their ideal existence but are left with few options.
The event commenced with the screening of the movie’s trailer and songs, which was followed by a flurry of questions from the students in attendance. The Director discussed the techniques of filmmaking and how to grow into a professional in the Bengali Cinema Industry (Tollywood). They proclaimed their belief that ‘Cinema is magic’ and that the language barrier would not stop the audience from relating to the theme of the movie as the audience will see themselves in those characters. The actors inspired the students to comprehend their concepts by talking about their experiences working together and how they began their journey in this field.
Towards the end, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah congratulated them for the success of the film & felicitated them with a vote of thanks. The event was attended by more than 100 students, and the Director presented the Collective with 75 complimentary tickets to the movie at the Acropolis Mall on Saturday, 15th July 2023.
