Department of Mathematics of the Bhawanipur Education Society College of has organized a National Seminar on Contemporary Research in Theoretical and Applicable Mathematics 2017 on September 08-09, 2017.
The aims of this conference was to bring together the academicians, scientists, engineers, researchers and students to exchange and share their knowledge, experiences and research results for better understanding of the emerging trends in Mathematics and its applications. The following topics were covered in the conference: Algebra, Analysis, Differential Equation, PDE, Geometry & Topology, Applied Mathematics.
On Day 1 the conference started at around 10 am with the welcome address of Dr. Suchandra Charavarty, Teacher-in-Charge of the college. Following her speech, Prof. Sanjay Sen, Secretary of the Calcutta Mathematical Society delivered the keynote address and Prof. Rajagopal Dhar Chakraborti, Registrar, University of Calcutta delivered the inaugural speech. The first technical session started at around 11 am with the lecture of Prof. S. H. Kulkarni, the renowned Professor of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. The title of his lecture was “Gleason-Kahane-Zelazko Theorem and Some of Its Generalizations”. The second speaker of this session, Prof. M. Majumdar of the Department of Pure Mathematics, University of Calcutta delivered a speech on the History of Ancient Hindu Mathematics. The second technical session started at around 1.45 pm with the lecture of Prof. S. K. Acharyya from the Department of Pure Mathematics, University of Calcutta on Rings of Continuous Functions: An Excellent Synthesis of Algebra and Topology. Dr. Koushik Ghosh, assistant Professor of the Department of General Science & Humanities, University of Burdwan, delivered the last talk of the day and the day was ended up the a paper presentation session which continues for almost 2 hours.
The day 2 started with an enriched talk of Dr. Debajyoti Choudhuri, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, NIT Rourkela, Rourkela, India on “Reduced Limit Approach To Semi linear Elliptic PDEs With Measure Data”. Prof. S. H. Kulkarni again enlightened with his speech after that. The seminar ended with the Valedictory session and vote of thanks from the organisers. Around 50 students and teachers of different institutes took part in the seminar and the seminar was a success.
The Bhawanipur Education Society College witnessed a day of fun and frolic at the Gitanjali Stadium on 29th February 2020. The spirit of Carnival 2020 was in the air already, upon which the excitement of URJA-Intra College Athletics Sports Meet had intoxicated each soul. The Carnival was a one-day event which was clubbed with URJA. …
