On the 5th of January 2015 an International Conference on ‘Emerging issues in Global Economy, Commerce and Management: Opportunities and Challenges’ was held in the college auditorium from 9:45 am. The welcome address was given by Prof. Lalit Kr. Joshi, Conference Secretary.
The inauguration session was attended by Honourable Vice Chancellor of University of Calcutta Prof. Suranjan Das, Mr. Champaklal Doshi, Chairman, Governing Body, Mr. Miraj D. Shah, Vice Chairman, Governing Body, Prof. Sandip Kr. Dan, Rector and Secretary to the Governing Body, Prof. Debjani Ganguly, teacher in Charge, all delegates from different Colleges and Universities and students. Vice Chancellor of University of Calcutta Prof. Suranjan Das in his inaugural speech insisted on the need to inculcate the positive aspects of globalisation and shun its negative implications on the society at large. Prof. Debjani Ganguly congratulated the M. Com Dept for its maiden Conference and Mr. Miraj D. Shah encouraged the Dept to hold similar conferences regularly which will benefit the students at large and motivate them towards research work. Prof.Ajitava Raychoudhary, Professor of Economics, Jadavpur University, Prof. P.S. Das, VGSOM, IIT, KGP Prof.Dhrubaranjan Dandapat, Professor of Commerce, University of Calcutta and Prof. Arup Choudhuri, founder President of Acasia Consulting graced the occasion and their deliberations created lasting impressions and will pave way for future research. There were two technical sessions followed by the Plenary session where twelve selected papers were presented by eminent educationist on various current and illuminating topics relevant to the theme of the conference. The active participation of the delegates, paper contributors, renowned speakers and students resulted in grand success of the conference.
The Conference ended with presentation of mementoes to all Paper presenters and a vote of thanks was extended by Prof. Paramita Chakravarty, the Joint Conference Secretary and distribution of certificates.
We look forward to another session like this in the near future.
