It was a practical learning experience where we saw various processes like jute fibre cleaning, drawings to convert it into thin threads, weaving, cutting and finally packaging and dispatching. Having spent about an hour’s time on the floor, we were back to the bunglow where an interactive session with the Mr. Behra, chief quality controller, was arranged. The session with Mr. Behra was highly enriching and students were made aware about the history and present condition of the jute industry. We also discussed about various Govt. policies and future trend of the industry. This was followed by Lunch and after thanking everyone for the hospitality, we started our journey back to the college.
