To Train the Teachers of the Bhawanipur Education Society College about the Mentoring process
To Make everyone understand the value of empathy
Brief description of the event:
Ummeed conducted 2 batches of Mentoring and Coaching Skills Course at Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata. Ms. Salony Priya, founder director, Ummeed along with her team interacted with almost 40 Educators. They underwent a sensitization program to obtain a deeper understanding of the millennium generation. Ummeed created awareness amongst them regarding the importance of mental health, concept of counseling and its impact on daily life. This course enables educators to have functional knowledge of human behaviour, and builds their skills to handle the spectrum of behavioural issues – from aggression to addiction and self- harm. The hands-on training, with role play and case study discussions is especially designed to enable participants with a better understanding of adolescent needs, developmental stages, so that they can provide better support to youth in their care and build good mental health. This enabled and equipped them to take on challenges as educators at their college.
Outcome of the Event:
Teachers understood the basics of mentoring and counselling.
Teachers have learnt to be more empathetic towards the students.
A seminar was conducted by the Department of Business Administration, on 29th March, 2025, at Concept Hall.
