The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted its annual Event Management workshop from October 1st to October 3rd, 2023, in the Jubilee Hall. This workshop, starting at 10:00 am each day, offered valuable insights into the world of event management for undergraduate students from all disciplines and years. It featured prominent event managers from across India, providing firsthand knowledge of the Event Management Industry.
The 3-day workshop comprised 6 sessions, with 2 sessions held daily from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The workshop yielded enthusiastic volunteers who are now well-prepared to assist in various college events. On the first day, more than 300 students gathered at 9:00 am for registration and entered the Jubilee Hall. The session was conducted by Mr. Gaurav Bajoria, an alumnus of the college who introduced them to the event management domain. Students introduced themselves and shared their motivations for participating in the workshop, displaying their active interest.
Additionally, the various departments involved in event management were introduced and explained. The first half of Day 1 concluded at 1:00 pm, with lunch coupons provided for the day’s break. In the second half, students were divided into 4 teams by Gaurav and tasked with creating an event named Umang, from ideation to implementation, to be presented on Day 2. The teams were categorized as Team 1 (Sem 5 students who volunteered in previous Umang), Team 2 (Sem 3 students who volunteered in previous Umang), Team 3 (Sem 1 students new to Umang), and Team 4 (Sem 3 and 5 students who didn’t volunteer in previous Umang).
On Day 2’s first half, students returned, fully prepared to present their Umang concepts. They spent this time refining and perfecting their presentations. After a lunch break at 1:00 pm, they returned to the Jubilee Hall at 2.30 pm to present their ideas, which were then evaluated.
On Day 3, an interactive seminar ‘Navigation challenges in Event Management: Strategies shared by Industry Veterans’ took place in the first session, featuring Mr. Kyle Mukherjee (Friends of Shiva Pvt. Ltd), Mr. Vicky Tulsyan (Mirage Network), Ms. Nidhi Poddar (Emerald Events), Mr. Gautam Jain (Real Reel Pvt. Ltd.), Ms. Prairna Khuller (Eventzinspired & Bhawanipur School of Event Management), and Mr. Saranjitt Singh (The Solutionist), who moderated the event. The workshop concluded with students expressing their interest in joining specific departments for future events. This 3-day workshop fostered a strong sense of teamwork among students as they learned to collaborate effectively.

Antakshari is a spoken parlour game played in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal. Each contestant sings the first verse of a song that begins with the Hindustani consonant on which the previous contestant’s song ends. The first event on the second day of Umang’14 was Antakshari which was held at the main stage.
