With this aim on 31st May, 2023, Anti Tobacco Day was celebrated by The NSS unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College. Marking this occasion, the team organized an inter-college ‘Reel Making Competition’ at the Society Hall from 11 am onwards. The event was attended by the Regional Director of NSS, Sri Vinay Kumar, Regional Directorate of NSS Kolkata, and Guest speaker & judge for the competition, Dr. Biswaroop Chandra (M.D.S.), Professor Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Kolkata. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Students Affairs, who gave an opening speech and felicitated the guests, Sri Vinay Kumar and Dr. Biswaroop Chandra. The day also marked the felicitation of the Khelo India Table Tennis Championship, which was held during 24 -27 May 2023 in BB University, Lucknow Session. With 16 participating universities from different parts of India, The Bhawanipur Education Society College bagged the second position with a bronze medal in the tournament.
The four participants who were felicitated from The BESC, were; Kaushiki Das Gupta, 1st Year M.A, Anushka Barak, Sammridhi Barik, 1st Year History (H) & Kankane Auddy , 3rd Year, History (h). Following this, the program resumed, with an awareness seminar on oral health which was conducted by Prof. Dr. Biswroop Chandra, and an Inter-College Reel Making Competition took place, with the following colleges securing the top positions:
1st Position: Sanjay Kamilya & Sutanu Kumar Roy of Govt. College of Art & Craft
2nd Position: Shubham Puri & Akram Masood of The Bhawanipur Education Society College
3rd Position: Srijoni Tribedi & Brishti Pradhan of Women Christian College.
The goal of the camp was to create widespread awareness & to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable disease it causes. During the whole event, several questions were raised by the students which were suitably answered. We extend our vote of thanks to Ms. Gargi, the NSS (National Service Scheme) coordinator, and all the dedicated student volunteers for their unwavering commitment towards social causes. Their remarkable efforts and selfless contributions have made a significant impact on our community and beyond.

BPLT – Bhawanipur Premier League Tournament, inaugurated on 17th February, 2017 witnessed90 teams and 540 students registering for the Tournament. The knockout round continued for 10 days among these 90 teams, after which the Quarterfinals were held on the penultimate day, and the Grand finals on 22nd February, 2017.
