Objective of the event: The objective of an Academic quiz is to create a stimulating and educational experience that tests participant’s knowledge, promotes learning, fosters critical thinking, and cultivates a passion for academic pursuits.
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science conducted an Academic Quiz for the Semester II Political Science Major students of the Department on 1st July, 2024. The students participated individually and questions were asked based on their academic syllabus. The proceedings of the quiz were conducted by Dr. Dona Ganguly and Tanusree Arora, of the Department of Political Science. The parameters of the quiz were explained on which the individuals would be judged and awarded scores.
Sanukta Roy secured the first position and Sania Haider stood second in the quiz.
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the quiz was based on the students feedback which was quite positive. The students highly appreciated the efforts of the department to conduct such a quiz that further enhanced their knowledge and critically answering skill. The event encouraged more active participation in classes through healthy competition among the groups.
Raas or Dandiya Raas is the traditional folk dance form of Gujarat, originated in Vrindavan by Lord Krishna, where it is performed depicting scenes of Holi, and Leela of Krishna and Radha. Along with Garba, it is the featured dance of Navaratri evenings in Western India.

On 7th * 8th September 2015, The Department of Games and Sports, conducted an Intra College Single’s Badminton Tournament at Y.M.C.A. (Chowringhee Branch) Kolkata. 263 boys and 97 girls participated in the tournament. The Tournament was held on knockout basis and was also the selection’s for the College Badminton Team 2015-16.
