Umang 2014 hosted the event ‘Debate’ in which 11 colleges participated. Debate was one of the most interesting events of Umang. The event started at 10:30am in the auditorium. The topic of debate was ‘Struggle is not necessary for success’. The time allotted to each speaker was three minutes and an additional one minute.
The judge was Mr. Jai Shankar. Indrajit Dey speaking for the motion was fairly good. Sanjukta Sarkarwas very expressive and was declared the best speaker, speaking ‘for the motion’. The best speaker, speaking ‘against the motion’ was Shreyashi Dutta. The winners of the debate session were Indrajit Dey and Rajarshi.The event was a great success and indeed a great learning session.
