The Department of History conducted a parent teacher meeting on 27th July, 2024 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm in room number 547. Parents/guardians of semester 2 major students were invited to the meeting. The objectives of the meeting were:
to intimate parents about their academic performance in CU theoretical and tutorial examinations in semester 1.
receive feedback from the parents.
The parents/guardians of ten students had attended the meeting. The faculty began by informing the parents about the framework of the syllabus and teaching learning practice as conducted by the teachers. The total attendance and the marks scored by the students were informed to the parent/guardian and their ward’s performance highlighted.
The faculty also received feedback from the parents who thanked the Department for conducting the parent teacher meeting in the first place and appreciated the efforts made by the department in reaching out to the parents to ensure the students’ progress. They all wanted to know if there was a mechanism through which the parents could be informed about the attendance of the students.
The Department has decided to give this a thought and come up with some manner to apprise the parents of their ward’s performance in a timely manner.
