Objective of the event: The event aimed to educate people about AIDS, its prevention, and the importance of safe practices.
Brief description of the event: The NSS Unit of The BESC organized a two-day AIDS Awareness Campaign on November 30th and December 1st, 2024, to commemorate World AIDS Day. The volunteers reached to the streets of Kolkata educating people about AIDS and distributed red ribbons symbolizing the theme of the initiative.
Day 1 (November 30th, 2024):
The campaign at Lake Mall area, distributing red ribbons and spreading awareness about AIDS and its prevention.
Day 2 (December 1st, 2024):
The NSS unit continued the campaign around Dharmatala Chandni Wellington, Park Street area, engaging with the local community and promoting awareness about AIDS.
Outcome of the event: 500 red ribbons have been distributed to ensure the awareness among the people.
Dr. Esita Sur, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, Scottish Church College, delivered a lecture entitled Women’s Movements, Histories and Narratives: Revisiting the journey.
