The prudence of the learned academics and the honourable founders decisively chose to elevate MATHEMATICS to a premier position within The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata, in 1966, the very year of its founding. From its inception, ‘The Department of Mathematics’ embarked on tireless and unwavering efforts to establish itself as a distinguished entity. Today, it stands as a highly accomplished department within BESC. The department offers a specialized, advanced-level course known as Mathematics Honours, following the curriculum of the University of Calcutta. Currently, the First Year Honours Course accommodates up to 50 students. Students with Mathematics Major can choose Statistics, Computer Science ,Economics ,Physics, Electronics and Chemistry as Minor one.
Over the span of three or four years of undergraduate studies, students receive training in advanced logical analysis and problem-solving skills. These instil in them a refined quantitative aptitude and confidence, enabling them to pursue a wide array of rewarding careers in industry or academia in the future.

Our laboratories are equipped with the latest technology and equipment to provide students with hands-on experience in applying theoretical knowledge.
