The Department of Business Administration at The Bhawanipur Education Society College successfully presented an interactive session on the Union Budget 2026 on 16th February 2026 at 12 Noon. The event was held in the Concept Hall and attracted an enthusiastic audience, with over 200 students in attendance from all semesters of BBA and B.Com.
The seminar commenced with the student emcee introducing the esteemed speakers, Ms. Jagriti Gupta, a seasoned banking professional and Founder of Smart Savers Squad and, CA Arijit Chakraborty, a financial planning expert and Founder of Arijit Chakraborty Associates and Arkan Consultancy.
Following the introduction, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Dilip Shah,was invited to deliver the welcome address and to felicitate the speakers. After the felicitation, Course Coordinator of Department of Business Administration, Dr.Tridib Sengupta was invited on the dais to introduce the topic.
The first Speaker, Ms. Jagriti Gupta, then took the stage to deliver an insightful session on the highlights of the Union Budget 2026. She spoke about the various sectors that have been center stage in the year’s budget and explained why they are crucial to the overall development of the nation. She also interacted with students to explain meaningful terms like Fiscal deficit and Biopharma sector.
Post her deliberation, the next speaker CA Arijit Chakraborty was invited on the stage. He lais emphasis on the major investment centers and explained how the Budget has a huge impact on the Stock market. He also explained the pillars of Viksit Bharat 2047– GYAN (Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata and Nari Shakti) and the impact of geopolitical conditions on the Budget and economy at large. He lay emphasis on the startup culture and how India is blessed with a very talented pool of Human resource capital.
His session was both interactive and engaging, leaving the students motivated and inspired towards a better understanding of the country’s budget.
Towards the end of his deliberation, the floor was opened to questions where students asked him about the scope of entrepreneurship in the FMCG, Bio Pharma and EV sector, its evolution over the years and impact of AI on future jobs, which were answered by the Speakers with great insights and experience.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tridib Sengupta who expressed his gratitude towards the Speakers for their willingness to share their knowledge and expertise with our students.
This seminar was a significant academic event as it offered the students a unique opportunity to gain insights from renowned experts in the field of Banking and Financial Research.
