Objective of the event: To inform and instruct the students about the role of museums in complementing classroom education.
Brief description of the event: The Department of History organised a field visit to Netaji Bhawan on September 11, 2025. Students of semester 1 were taken to Netaji Subhas Chandra’s home to inform his role in the freedom struggle. Netaji’s life, his accomplishments and his Great Escape on the intervening night of January 16-17, 1941 were discussed in detail. His role as Congress President and travels across the world to garner support for India’s struggle for liberation was discussed with the students.
Outcome of the event: The students were incredibly engaged through out the visit and learned numerous facets of Netaji and Sisir Bose’s life which was hitherto unknown to them.
The Department of English organized a series of Fortnightly Lectures on Literary Theory for the final semester students of the Undergraduate and the Postgraduate courses, in March-April 2022. This was planned to ensure that the students are equipped with advanced knowledge of literary theory and criticism as several of them would, after their final semester, …
