Objective of the event: To empower students with essential digital skills
Brief description of the event: On December 17, 2024, the Department of Commerce (UG), in collaboration with the NSS unit, organized an Extension & Outreach program on “Digital Literacy: Empowering Kids for a Safe Digital World” for the children of Panch Darshiya Vidyalaya, located at Park Circus Slum. The workshop aimed to educate and empower the young minds with essential digital literacy skills, promoting online safety, and responsible digital citizenship. The event was attended by enthusiastic students, accompanied by their teachers. Prof. Chandan Jha, Faculty the Department of Commerce (UG), the resource person, expertly guided the students through an interactive session, covering topics such as: Basic computer skills and online safety, Cyberbullying and online harassment, Digital etiquette and responsible online behavior, Online resources and educational websites. The students actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions, and asking pertinent questions.
Outcome of the event: Promoting digital inclusion, online safety and digital citizenship among the under privileged students
