“Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.”

Our home, India, is not just a country but a civilization known for its diversity, inclusivity, and the richness of its communities. Similarly, The Bhawanipur Education Society College is known for its efforts in upholding Indian traditions and celebrating our roots in all their glory. To kickstart the festive season, Dhamaal 2024 was organized on October 1, 2024, from 5 pm onwards on the college turf. Esteemed guests representing the college’s management, faculty members, and a large crowd of buzzing students welcomed the event.
The festivities commenced with the offering of a melodious aarti to Ambe Maa that is not just sung in praise of her strength and resilience but also signifies the depth of the love and reverence that the devotees have towards her. The aarti filled the atmosphere with nothing but positivity, successfully setting a divine tone for the rest of the evening. Following the aarti, the students of the Flames Eastern Team performed the ‘Dhunuchi Dance’ which is an act of devotion in Bengali culture. The dance was performed with energy and enthusiasm and symbolized the victory of good over evil. The festivities continued with two more traditional Gujarati Garba and Dandiya Raas performances that touched the hearts of the crowd including the management.
Soon after, the general Garba and Dandiya rounds started with beautiful songs sung by Mr Manish Dave, Ms Jinal Kothari, and the troupe; making the crowd swirl and turn to classic Gujarati beats. To acknowledge the graceful dancers on the stage, the college decided to provide free passes to one of the most renowned garba events, Goonj 2024. The lucky winners were selected by esteemed guests Mr. Dharmesh Bhimani and Mr. Nishant Dave who are also pioneers in uplifting the Gujarati culture and representing the same on an international level as well.
The event concluded after a DJ round by the one and only DJ Dhruv Bhatia, the round went on for more than an hour and yet the crowd seemed to not have enough of it. The event was successful in imbibing love, devotion, and respect for our culture in the hearts of all the attendees and hence, proved to be true to its name.
