The conclave was moderated by Ms Arundhati Mazumder. Ms Mazumder then opened the discussion with three pertinent points for elaboration by the panellists- the top 3 employability skills that are becoming essential- role of empathy and industry expectations & perspectives. The panellists not only expressed their views but also gave a vivid insight into the organizational structure and its functioning.
Through the course of the deliberation, panellists shared various reasons for inculcating employability skills. Heterogeneous workforce, they pointed out, is a common phenomenon in almost all eminent organizations, therefore empathy, both by the employer and employee, must be practiced.
While expatiating on the common interview questions of the HR round, panellist Ms Vithani called to attention the fact that boilerplate answers are not what HR professionals expect. Further, Mr Sarkar shared pertinent information regarding the written & technical interview rounds. In due course of the discussion, Ms Purkayastha emphasized the importance of being conscious of gestures & body language in communication.
The discussion meandered around employee engagement, inclusion, talent management, current trends, industry requirements and ability enhancement. The panellists touched very relevant aspects of the industry giving a deeper understanding from an HR’s standpoint.
In the interactive session, several students asked significant questions to which all three panellists replied comprehensively.
The session concluded with the Vote of Thanks by senior faculty member Mr Sayan Roy.
