The Bhawanipur Education Society College paid a spectacular tribute to the legendary Michael Jackson through the event of “Beat-It” held on the 10th May 2025. The event was a beautiful amalgamation of music, dance, and heartfelt admiration for the global icon that led to a crowd of nearly 100 attendees being drawn to the venue, all gathered to celebrate the timeless legacy of the King of Pop. The festivities commenced at 2:00 P.M. in the vibrant atmosphere of the Jubilee Hall with the screening of one of Michael Jackson’s most iconic performances, instantly transporting the audience into his world of music, rhythm, and unmatched artistry. This was followed by an energetic stand-up performance by the evening’s host, Vikramaditya Shah, who captivated the audience with his wit and humour, setting a lively tone for the performances that followed.
The stage, then, came alive with a mesmerising dance performance by Gowri Vaidyanath. Her electrifying moves, inspired by Jackson’s unique dance style, dazzled the audience and set the hall pulsating with energy. Adding to the soulful mood of the evening, a solo instrumental performance touched hearts, showcasing the emotional depth that Jackson’s music has always conveyed. The highlight of the event was the solo singing performance by Theo, a student who performed a soulful rendition of Beat It. His powerful vocals and stage presence truly captured the essence of Michael Jackson’s original hit, earning roaring applause from the audience. This was followed by a special screening of a performance by MJ5, a dance crew renowned for blending Jackson’s iconic moves with Bollywood songs, further demonstrating Jackson’s global influence and timeless appeal.
Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Student Affairs, who conceptualised and inspired the organisation of the event, was invited on stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. His words reflected the love and admiration that generations continue to hold for Michael Jackson, and his vision made the tribute all the more special. The energy reached new heights during the much-anticipated rap jam by Raghav Agarwal and his team, who infused the event with a fresh, modern vibe. The grand finale was marked by a band performance that beautifully encapsulated the spirit of the evening with electrifying music, rhythmic beats, and captivating melodies that left the audience enthralled.
