The Background The five-day (April 20 to 24) Bengal Global Trade Expo 2022 (BGTE 2022), organized by the apex trade body of eastern India, Confederation of West Bengal Trade Associations (CWBTA), was a resounding success generating hundreds of trade-related and business investment queries and proposals for the West Bengal Government and clocking over 2.5 lac footfalls. The BGTE 2022 was inaugurated on 20 April 2022. Over 15 countries participated at the BGTE 2022.
Around 50 students (including photographers) from the Bhawanipur Educational Society College were invited to attend and witness the expo under the guidance of Prof. Mohit Shaw, Department of Commerce (morning) maintaining the covid protocols.
Mr. N Kapadia, Joint Chairman of the Business Expo personally visited the college to meet Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Students Affairs and shared his vision to associate the college in the upcoming event as a special invitee.
The main purpose of the visit was to cover innovative products and services in the upcoming business magazine of the College (a compilation related to the Expo 2022). The visiting students were divided into a 3-member team to cover products and services from different sectors.
The 50-member team gathered at College premises at 10:30 a.m. where they were briefed about their roles and duties to be performed by Prof. Mohit Shaw and from there, the team started for the main venue, together.
The Team
The Arrival Mr. N Kapadia and other committee members personally welcomed the students of BESC at the main gate where the team was given special bands and delegate cards. The Core committee of the expo was very pleased and happy to see the excitement and participation of students. As per the President and other members this was the first time any college has come forward to cover the expo in this fashion and intent which was really commendable.
The Seminar and Recognition Before the team could have started their mission of reporting various products from a number of sectors, Mr. Kapadia escorted them to a temporary built canopy cum auditorium for a seminar on Renewable Energy and Power.

Leading industrial players from the respective sector were present who shared the need and ideas of making energy and alternative sources of fuel to be developed to have a sustainable future. Mr. Kapadia in his welcome address acknowledge the presence of the Team college and praised the management of the college for taking and supporting the initiative for the betterment of students who are the future of the nation.
The Coverage Over 500 companies, startups were a part of BGTE’2022. The students got to know and learn about plenary and sectoral sessions, B2G and B2B interactions apart from providing digital space for exhibitions and business networking.
The reporting teams from the college made both written and video reports. In the video reports they interviewed entrepreneurs regarding their venture, struggle and overall experience in their journey till now. Around 100 companies were covered throughout the day. Both the commercial and social aspect of the businesses were given due importance while covering.
The major attraction in the expo was the e-vehicle and solar energy segment which attracted the attention of majority of visitors.
On 22nd November, we had a workshop on “Self-Defence” for girls from 01:00 PM – 03:00 PM.
