The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised for a visit to St. Joseph old age home on 15th January, 2015 accompanied by 25 students along with Prof. Dilip Shah and Prof. Soumendra Laha.
It was the first initiative taken by the Bhawanipur College to promote National service scheme (NSS).We organised a programme to entertain the old people at the home. It began with an introductory speech by Prof. Dilip Shah followed by singing and dance performances by the students. We were encouraged by the overwhelming participation of the senior citizens at the home.
The old age home displays a perfect management of all the facilities provided to them to the elderly people living there which included a chapel, a laundry, a hair salon, doctor’s chamber, kitchen , a dining room in each floor, a lawn, an auditorium, a high security system and many more.
The oldest member at the home was a lady, 97 years old. The students gifted a fruit basket to the old age home.
It was a joint initiative taken by both the students and the members of old age home. After serving them the lunch, we wrapped up for the day and headed back to the college.
The college participated in an Inter-College Fest Quest 2014 organised by an eminent institute of the city. Students enthusiastically prepared themselves and put their best foot forward in the maximum number of the events.

He passed away in 1994. Yet, the melodies that he bequeathed, lingers to haunt a Nation, is hummed by bitter foes across borders and continues to be one of the most potent weapons in India’s arsenal as she tries to diplomatically push the boundaries of her sphere of influence.
