Objective of the event:
To sensitize teachers, staffs and students about the impact of their words and actions on others.
To promote a culture of zero tolerance towards harassment, bullying, and discrimination.
To encourage the stake holders to take ownership of maintaining a respectful campus environment.
To provide a platform for students to share their experiences and ideas on promoting respect and dignity.
Brief description of the event:
The event featured a special lecture by Dr. Syed Tanveer Nasreen, Professor & Head, Department of History, University of Burdwan. The program was inaugurated by watering the plant as a symbol of commitment towards promoting environmental awareness and upholding environmental sustainability. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mahua Das, Presiding Officer ICC. Dr. Nasreen was felicitated by Mr. Dilip Shah,Dean of Students Affairs. The theme of the lecture was briefly introduced by Dr. Anupa Ghosh, IQAC Coordinator. The thought provoking and the insightful lecture delivered by Dr. Nasreen was followed by the Digital Poster Making Competition, where students showcased their understanding of the theme through creative digital posters. The competition was evaluated by Dr. Nasreen. The winners of the competition were:
Winner: Vanshika Gupta (B.A. Political Science)
1st Runner-up: Zinat Hassan ( Mathematics)
2nd Runner-up: Soureesh Mukherjee ( Mathematics)
Outcome of the event:
Participants have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of respect , dignity, empathy and collective responsibility to uphold these values inside the college campus. This will further strengthen the mutual relationships in the workplace.
NSS unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College has been working tirelessly along with NGO Nirman Foundation toward spreading awareness in Health, Hygiene, Sanitation, and Safe Water . This time we had chosen Sarangabad High School located at Budge Budge, South 24 Parganas for the above objective.
