“You can never understand one language until you understand at least two.”
Abroad studies used to be a dream, especially for Indian students wanting to pursue their further education in France; it was a rather difficult process with several hurdles along the way. To help their students in this regard, on the 17th of December 2025, The Bhawanipur Education Society College, in collaboration with Campus France, organized a seminar, “En route to France”, in the Society Hall of the college campus. The seminar focused on providing students with a roadmap for those who want to pursue higher education in France. The event aimed to bridge the gap between Indian students and French academic opportunities, highlighting the cultural and professional benefits of studying abroad. The session was led by two prominent representatives of the French Institute in India (IFI), which operates under the Embassy of France in India: Ms. Julia Legros Martin, Attaché for Cooperation in the French Language, and Ms. Anindita Mazumder, Campus France Manager in Kolkata.
With an overwhelming crowd of over 80 eager students, the seminar began. Structured around a presentation titled “Study in France”, which proved to be an effective guide to academic pathways and learning French. The speakers emphasized that French is spoken across five continents, and it was also noted that approximately 200 million people speak French globally, making it a vital language. They also addressed common misconceptions and myths regarding admission, language barrier, and the cost of living. The session also highlighted scholarships, funding opportunities, and a great range of universities available to International students. They emphasized France’s global standing, including its military presence and international bases, underscoring the stability and influence of the nation as a destination for higher education.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to seek personalized advice on their career paths. The seminar ended with a felicitation ceremony to honor the respected guests. The session successfully provided students with information to begin their journey toward higher education in France, and wishing all the students the best of luck.
