Objective of the event: i. To help the students to gain a deeper understanding of the role of the Union Executive in India’s foreign policy, particularly in the context of India-Pakistan conflicts, ii to provide students with an opportunity to develop their research skills, including critical thinking, analysis, and presentation, iii to foster collaboration and engagement among students, encouraging them to share their ideas and learn from each other.
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science organized a students’ seminar on “Role of Union Executive in the Recent India-Pakistan Conflicts” on June 14, 2025. The seminar provided a platform for students of Semester 2 and 4 to present their research papers and engage in discussions on the topic. Total 12 papers were presented. 6 papers from each semester. In the first session , students from Semester 2 presented their papers. The session was moderated by Ms. Lopamudra Majumder, Faculty, Political Science. The second session was moderated by Dr. Dona Ganguly, Assistant Professor, Political Science. In the second session , students from semester 4 presented their papers. Students presented their research papers on various aspects of the topic, including the role of the Union Executive in shaping India’s foreign policy, the impact of executive decisions on India-Pakistan relations, and the challenges faced by the executive in navigating complex diplomatic situations. The seminar sparked lively discussions and debates among the students, with participants engaging in thoughtful exchanges and sharing their perspectives on the topic. The seminar showcased the research skills of the students, who demonstrated a good understanding of the topic and presented their findings in a clear and concise manner.
Outcome of the event: The students’ seminar was a successful event that provided a platform for students to showcase their research skills and engage in discussions on a topic of contemporary relevance. The Department of Political Science plans to organize more such events in the future to encourage student participation and research.
