Objective of the event
According to the new education policy of NEP, vocational training of students is called for in addition to traditional studies. The purpose of this training is to create new employment opportunities for the students. Because other measures will make students vocational beyond the employment opportunities that have long been available through traditional education. The primary objective of these workshops is to expose students to the vast potential of the publishing world in addition to language and literature education.
Brief description of the event
There was a total of three Resource Persons in this event. First put by Amritosh Biswas who is a Scholar of SCTR and Course Coordinator of Digital Humanities course. His topic was Digitization before printing and publishing. Then said Kaushik Ananda Kirtania, who is currently associated with Jadavpur Press and Coordinator of Certificate Course in Publications as well. His subject was Design Making and page setup before publication. Then said Tanmoy Sarkar, who demonstrated the process of Silkscreen printing and informed the students about different types of papers.
Outcome of the event
This workshop can be an eye-opener for any student who wants to choose Digital Humanities or Publication as their career after completing their graduation course. Along with this, the modules related to digital humanities and publications in SEC will play an effective role in understanding the new syllabus.
