With this aim the NSS unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized ‘Seva Sandwich’ drive on 11th April, 2023 at the Inner space. The students gathered and started making sandwiches from 6:15 am in the morning and were ready to go out to distribute at 08:00 am.
The distribution drive began at 8:30 am in Rowland Road ‘N.B. WELFARE Association with Prof. Gargi, Coordinator Harshit Modi, Rishabh Rathi, Badal Kumar Singh, and all NSS volunteers who distributed around 800 sandwiches. Then 2 different groups of volunteers went to Rashbehari Avenue crossing, Gopal Nagar, Rashbehari Gurudwara, Northern Park, Sambhunath Hospital, and distributed 1200 sandwiches.
More than 2000 Sandwiches were made by 55 volunteers and distributed among 1800 children, women, and elderly people. The initiative brought a bright smile to their faces and made them feel special, which was the whole aim behind the drive. All the volunteers relished their experiences on the day. We would like to thank the entire Management of the College for their immense support throughout the event.
Dr. Sourav Sengupta, Lecturer, the Indian Statistical Institute, Specializing in Crypto Currency and Bitcoins conducted one of the most memorable seminars held in the college in recent times (and that’s saying a lot, considering the sheer number of seminars that are organised in the BESC). Rangoli, also known as Kolam or Muggu, is a folk art from India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals . The Rangoli competition was held on the Valia Hall.
