Career Counseling is a process that will help you to know and understand yourself and the world of work in order to make educational, career and life decisions. It was an honor for the BES college students to get guidance from the experts regarding modern day emerging careers. The seminar conducted by the college had invited various professionals.
A good career coach learns to change his/her orientation in order to respond to the specific needs of the clients at different stages of the career coaching. He is an Assessor, Information Provider, Referral Agent, Guide, and Tutor. Just like Mr.G. Jai Shankar a renowned career counselor quotes that “If you enjoy the difficulties that are your job. If you hate the difficulties get out”. His main focus was to make students aware of the future possibilities and how to grab them.
Mr. Pramod Maloo a digital engineer thinks that the present generation is attracted to easy money, which he thinks is possible through Digital Marketing. There’s no denying it, the world is rapidly shifting from analogue to digital. People are consuming more and more digital content on a daily basis and companies that have not yet recognized this in their marketing strategies need to adapt fast. The good news is that digital offers just as much potential to marketers as it does to consumers.
Mr. Vinay Bagai a CFA and a CFA advisor puts light on how CFA is gaining the attention of youth in India. CFA is what gives us a deeper knowledge in Investment. CFA is not a replacement for MBA; rather both go hand-in-hands.
Mr. Avik Gupta one the representatives of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) enlightened us about how charted accountants takes keen interest in investing their capital into stocks and trade exchange.
Mr. Dipankar Dey, a banker and an advisor on management talks about the banks working for the development of the nation. He also tells us about IBPS which holds examination for all the people interested in working at the banks.
An interactive question was asked on Actuaries which was answered by a third year pass out of the college who had cleared 5 Modules, giving details insights into the subject, the various modules, job orientation etc. available.
Mr. Shubham from Miles Institute provided information with regard to the CMA and CFA courses awarded by IMA, the roadmap to pursuing them, the duration involved, its differentiation from other courses like ICWAI/ CIMA/ CA.
The seminar was a great success and also an eye opener for most of the students. One to one interaction took place which helped the students to clear their doubts and get a deeper understanding of their chosen field. We thank Prof. Mr. Dilip Shah and the college authority for giving us this opportunity.
