Adding yet another jewel to its crown of events, the Bhawanipur Education Society College organised and executed Urja 2024 – 2025 on November 18th, 2024, at the Gitanjali Stadium. The annual athletic meet is a major milestone in the calendars of sportspersons and sports enthusiasts. The day began at 9:00 A.M., with participants, volunteers, and audience members filling the stadium. With a gathering of more than 500 people, Urja 2024 -2025 had a lively crowd of sports enthusiasts who were set to witness the daylong proceedings. Ritualistically, the opening ceremony of Urja 2024 – 2025 comprised a march past starring all the Collectives of BESC, their representatives and members, and also a dance performance by all three teams of the Flames Collective. To inaugurate and go ahead with the activities, a lighting of the torch also took place in the presence of Prof. Dilip Shah; members of the management committee, Mr. Umesh Thakkar and Mr. Jitendra Shah; Director General, Dr Suman K. Mukherjee; Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce (Morning) and BESC’s Sports Officer, Mr. Rupesh Gandhi. After lighting the torch, Sports Officer Mr. Gandhi took a lap around the field carrying the torch followed by enthusiastic students who ran in support of the event.
This year, Urja presented participants with track events such as the relay race of 100 metres, 200 metres, and 400-metre distances, as well as other events such as javelin throw, discus throw, shot put, or javelin. A total of 150 participants made their way to the registration table where they registered themselves in multiple events as per their choice. A team of more than 60 volunteers as well as 8 referees and members of the Sports Arena were present at the scene to manage this event and ensure smooth flow of happenings throughout the day. A staggering turnout showcased the college’s athletic prowess, with impressive participation from both boys and girls. The field events witnessed dedicated participation, showcasing fit participants, who were talented athletes.
In the end, the several winners of the different events in Urja 2024 received respect and appreciation in the closing ceremony by Prof. Dilip Shah; Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi; Prof. Darshana Trivedi; NCC officers Lt. Aditya Raj and Aritrica Dubey. These triumphant students were:-
