The 6th edition of the Bhawanipur Business Meet (BBM) was held on July 26th, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. sharp in the Concept Hall of the Bhawanipur Education Society College.
The team of student entrepreneurs took their seats in a semi-circle around the student speaker. The primary topic of the meeting was the importance of creating connections and discussing business affairs and models with each other. The speaker provided several examples from among the student entrepreneurs who dealt in complementary goods but had never collaborated due to being unaware of each other’s businesses.
One of the members raised the issue that entrepreneurs often use jargon-heavy language during their pitches, which only those specialising in their line of work would understand. The speaker acknowledged this as a valid point and explained how to pitch businesses effectively. Firstly, he emphasised the importance of conveying ideas simply and requesting connections with specific entrepreneurs in the pitch itself. Following this, the BBM Member Connect was displayed on the screen, showcasing the business details of every BBM member. The speaker of the day introduced each business and identified possible connections that could be made among the members. Soon after, he conducted a short quiz where he asked questions about the business details of the entrepreneurs displayed on the screen.
The special guest for the 6th edition, CA Shivani Jain, began with a story about how she decided to become a CA. Before continuing with her story, she held a quick activity where all members were paired up, and in three minutes, each pair had to learn their partner’s name, business details, ambitions, hobbies, or other relevant information. The guest then introduced the “Red Car” theory: no one specifically counts the number of red cars they encounter in a day, but if they were paid ₹1000 for each one spotted, they would do so actively. She further explained the importance of networking among individuals, even for those who aspire to take up jobs.
With inputs from the members, she discussed what new entrepreneurs should learn, such as market knowledge, risk management, taxation, communication skills, trading, and production. She then held another activity, dividing the members into groups of four. Each team was asked to come up with an original business idea without worrying about capital or production. Members presented innovative ideas such as umbrella distribution ports across the city through memberships, eco-friendly flying cars, nano-tech thermoses, and solar-based water purifiers.
After the presentations, the guest took questions from the members. She was felicitated by the speaker, marking the formal conclusion of the event.
