The Fashionista collective of the Bhawanipur Educational Society College organised a one-day grooming session for the students at the college on 15th of February at Concept Hall. The workshop started from 2 p.m. sharp and continued for two interactive hours with 50 participants.
The show started with Prof Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs and the collective representatives welcoming the guest for the event Ms. Anushka Ghosh, a budding fashion model, Miss India Khadi winner 2021, Miss Bengal Teen 2019 with her grooming team who took an in-depth session teaching the students about walking style and techniques on the ramp, styling tips, posing, modeling and pageant preparations.
The stage was then handed over to Ms Anuska who put up a ramp walk choreography with her team to showcase it to the students as a practical example of a professional ramp walk. She also showed an in-detail presentation on the topic “How to be a fashion model?” in which she gave a step-to-step guide and explained each of the steps. Few of the steps she covered were at first creating snapshots (of all your profiles mainly left, right, front and back) and getting appraised by a professional model agency and getting as much exposure, which will help one to get an experience of this industry and which genre is suitable for oneself (commercial market, creative market etc.) and last but not the least, being persistent. She also talked about the various scopes and career opportunities in this industry like –
Modelling Agencies
Fashion shows
Beauty pageants
Print ads and TVCs
Fashion and lifestyle magazine models
Sports and fitness model
Fashion instructor
Fashion choreographer
Service crew
Bollywood
Fashion blogger
Fashion agencies
Fashion magazines
and many more
The event went on further with a ramp walk competition in which each member from the audience participated and were judged by the guests of the day. The students walked flawlessly with sheer powerful attitude which made the competition extremely hard and enjoyable for the judges to decide the winners The event went to a next level when Prof. Dilip Shah walked the ramp too amidst the cheer and applause of the students to encourage him.
The winners were chosen in three categories, best walk – Meghali Sengupta and Nayan Singh, Handsome male – Yash Swami, and gorgeous female – Lisa Karmakar after which there was a small ramp showcase by the students of the fashionista collective core team.
The students were also given an opportunity to participate in the upcoming ASA KIDZ, MR, MISS & MRS ASIA INTERNATIONAL 2022. The event came to an end with felicitation of the guests from the college by presenting them a memento to appreciate and honor them. The event was a huge success, and we are looking forward for more such fascinating events.
