The workshop started with a welcome speech by a student of the department, Archisha Ghosh. There were many topics that were highlighted and touched upon during the session. It includes the definition of the word ‘emotion’, and the difference between feeling, emotion, and mood. Basic emotions (happiness, sadness, anger, and fear) and their characters were explained. The key component the workshop highlighted and critically focused on was ‘anger management.’ The expression of anger during certain situations and its effect along with the strategies to cope with emotional outbursts. The students were told about the different methods and techniques they can use like deep breathing or going for a walk, etc. The importance and need to be emphatic towards others in today’s world was also explained.
