On 2nd March, 2022, Eco for Be-ites collective of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised a seminar on Data Science. The speaker for the event was Professor Amit Das.
Professor Amit Das has a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, and a post-graduate diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta. He has earned his PhD in Information & Decision Sciences from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
The seminar began at 3:00 P.M. presided by Prof. Dilip Shah – Dean of Student Affairs, BESC, who felicitated Prof. Das with a Memento of Honour. An exceptional 2 hours of deep diving into the world of data science, Prof. Das with the help of demographics and statistics solved 2 complex problems on data sets and gave the students a brief idea about how data science works in different domains ranging from Artificial Intelligence to Management Systems.
The event concluded at around 5 P.M. and Professor Das was effective in giving students insights on the basics of Data Science and the opportunities it holds for today’s generation. His expertise proved helpful in encouraging students to know more about the vast world of data science. The collective would be back with such interactive seminars and workshops in days to come.
