“The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.”
Perhaps there is no moment quite like the one that fills us with pride for the achievements of our students. And when they are 202 in number, the joy is truly magnified. On August 12, 2023, these shining stars of The Bhawanipur College marked their triumphant journey by receiving gleaming medals, certificates, and fee-exempted cheques. Yes, not only was the fee for the first semester refunded, but subsequent academic years were also remarkably subsidized. It was a celebration of learning, honouring their relentless pursuit of education and academic excellence.
The event commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, setting the stage for an inspiring address by the Chairman, Sri Rajnikant Dani. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the Bhawanipur scholars for their exceptional achievement, highlighting that behind every accomplishment lies a tale of unwavering parental support, guidance, sacrifices, and belief in their capabilities. He emphasized that this achievement should be viewed as a stepping-stone towards continued brilliance.
Dr. Suman Mukerjee, in his welcoming speech, posed a question to the scholars: What is Success? He illuminated how success is a dynamic concept, with today’s accomplishments serving as the foundation for tomorrow’s endeavors. Drawing from the wisdom of Swami Vivekananda, he encapsulated success in three words: Purity, Practice, and Perseverance. The scholars were encouraged to embrace this moment as an opportunity to lead holistic lives and not let their minds flutter, for they are the future of India.
With each scholar’s name resonating through applause, they took the stage one after another to receive their medals and certificates. The occasion was graced by the presence of distinguished individuals, including members of the Management – Smt. Nalini Parekh and Sri Bulbul Shah, along with Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator of the Commerce Morning Department, who felicitated the Bhawanipur Scholars.
Srishti Jhunjhunwala, a scholarship recipient, extended a gracious vote of thanks, expressing her gratitude towards the institution’s dedication to holistic student development. Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs, in his closing remarks, underscored the significance of remaining relevant in today’s ever-evolving landscape. He urged the scholars to expand their knowledge horizons through continuous interactions with like-minded peers, providing examples of two alumni students who successfully cleared all IIMs, epitomizing the level of engagement and aspiration that they should aim for.
