The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has created a global health crisis that has had a deep impact on the way we perceive our world and our everyday life. The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic spread rapidly across nations and country after countries responded with lockdowns, making about 1.5 billion students globally remain at home.
Under these circumstances, and in order to help the underprivileged, The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College had organized a distribution drive of essential products needed at this time of pandemic on August 12, 2020 at Sister Nivedita Trust, Kolkata, a charitable trust dedicated to the education of underprivileged children.
A set of 2 masks, one bottle of sanitizer and 2 soaps were distributed to 40 children of Sister Nivedita Trust. Instructions were given to the children about how to protect themselves and others, so all can fight against corona virus by practicing wash hands frequently with soap. They were also guided on the importance of wearing masks or cloth to cover their mouth and nose.
