Objective of the event: The main objective of this add-on course in Physics was to provide students with additional knowledge and practical skills beyond the regular syllabus, enhancing their academic and professional competence. It aims to strengthen conceptual understanding, improve problem-solving ability, and develop analytical thinking, making students industry-ready. This course bridges the gap between theory and practical application through hands-on training, projects, and experiments. Overall, the add-on course seeks to improve employability, research aptitude, and interdisciplinary learning among physics students.
Brief description of the event: This event was held in collaboration with the Pure Physics department, C.U. and in association with the IQAC, The B. E. S College. In the 1st session Educationist Mr. Krishnendu Chakrabartty conducted a workshop where students made different models in Physics. During this workshop students explored the fascinating world of physics together. In the 2nd session, professor of Physics Department,Calcutta University, Dr. Goutam Gangopadhyay delivered an enriching lecture on ‘Nuclear Medicine’. The 3rd session was conducted by Technical Trainer, B. E. S College Mr. Abhijit Dey. In this season students learned how to make power supply which is very much helpful for their future study. The last season was conducted by Scientist, HMRC Dr. Ramendralal Mukherjee. He guided our students to make telescopes. Teachers from the Physics and Computer Science Department joined in this workshop.
Outcome of the event: An add-on course in Physics enhances students’ conceptual understanding and practical skills beyond the regular syllabus. It improves analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and research aptitude, while also increasing employability through exposure to modern tools and industry-relevant knowledge.
