Objective of the event: All round development of the personality of the students which includes apart from academic excellence, the spirit of punctuality, discipline, leadership and teamwork
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science organised a Prize Distribution Ceremony under Academic and Disciplinary Measures for Semester I Major Students (ADM) on February 28, 2026 in Concept Hall. The proceedings of the prize distribution ceremony commenced with Amala Dhandhania, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science, explaining the parameters of the Academic and Disciplinary Measures on which the students were judged and awarded. The Prizes were awarded by Prof. Debjani Ganguly, Vice-Principal (Arts) and distinguished speakers like Smt. Soma Kar Ghosh, Advocate of Calcutta High Court and Smt. Pranati Saha, Deputy Superintendent of Police CID, West Bengal.
The following prizes and recognitions were given out:
Highest Class Attendance in all papers based on the average of attendance in three papers of Political Science Major DSCC1, CVAC 1.2 & SEC1 – Rishika Chowdhury & Md Shah Faisal Nasim
Best Performer in Continuous Internal Assessment – Adriza Hazra & Md Shah Faisal Nasim
Best Daily Individual Performance in Class – Rishika Chowdhury & Md Shah Faisal Nasim
The students who had presented papers during the Students’ Seminar were also recognised during the ceremony and awarded with certificates.
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the event based on the students’ feedback is quite positive. Students expressed satisfaction with the current criteria and appreciated the initiative by the department.
The Bhawanipur Education Society College played host to a literary event that left attendees enraptured.
