Objective of the event: All round development of the personality of the students which includes apart from academic excellence, the spirit of punctuality, discipline, leadership and teamwork
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science organised a Prize Distribution Ceremony under Academic and Disciplinary Measures for Semester I Major Students (ADM) on February 8, 2025, for the Semester I Major students. This event is based upon the various academic and disciplinary measures introduced by the Department for the overall development of the students, not only in academics but in various other fields.
The proceedings of the prize distribution ceremony were conducted by Lopamudra Majumdar, Faculty, Department of Political Science. She explained the parameters of the Academic and Disciplinary Measures on which the students were judged and awarded. Vice Principal (Arts), Debjani Ganguly graced the occasion and felicitated the winning students, praising the department for undertaking such an effort of awarding the students for academics and extracurricular activities and also encouraged the students to continue with such performances in a consistent manner. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the students by Vice Principal (Arts), Debjani Ganguly and Amala Dhandhania, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science.
The following prizes and recognitions were given out:
a. Highest Class Attendance in all papers based on the sum total of attendance in Political Science Major DSCC1, SEC1 and CVAC papers – Aryan Mallick
b. Best Performer in Continuous Internal Assessment – Aryan Mallick
c.Best Daily Individual Performance in Class – Aryan Mallick
d. Prize for the Highest Score in Academic Quiz – Subhomita Seal
e. Prize for the Best Group in Students’ Seminar – Group A
f. Best Group – Group A
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the event based on the students’ feedback is quite positive. Students expressed satisfaction with the current criteria and appreciated the initiative by the department.
International Management Institute Kolkata representatives, Sneha Chakravorty and Aparna Singh Roy (an alumnus of BESC) were in the campus on August 29th 2017, to conduct the initial round and identify the winners who will represent BESC in the forthcoming IMI Kolkata Fest.
