The very recent unpredictability global pandemic circumstances have enforced all to change or adapt the new ways to survive and come across the days in every respect of life. Due to controlled measures and closedown of Educational Institutions and the connected personnel are in front of the challenges like online teaching-learning method, online mentoring the students even arranging online seminar/symposium (webinar) to keep the educational sector active in some way. Different Educational Institutes of globe organizes many more Regional/National/International webinars on several topics related to present scenario of this covid-19 pandemic outbreak by some eminent and honorable speakers.
The department of Chemistry of The Bhawanipur Education Society College have taken an instigation to organize a two days webinar on June 25 and 26, 2020 about the consequences of catastrophic event of Covid-19 on our mental health and psychological well–being of all in a different approach as compared to other Institutes. The total number of participants on two days was almost 100 out of which the utmost participation are the students and research scholars of the different Institutes. On the first day of the webinar the students of the department of chemistry of the College presented the vision by expressing the challenging situation prevailed during this pandemic outbreak. Ankit Kumar Gupta (Sem(II) Hons.), Ranit Laha (Sem(II) Hons.), Supritam Dutta (3rd yr. Hons.), Moupriya Mukherjee (3rd yr. Hons.), Prattaya Sen (3rd yr. Hons.), the students of Department of Chemistry took an attempt to share and to envisage their thoughts to adopt the strategies of the challenging issues prevailing during this pandemic from their perspective. They have covered a range of topics related to the educational dimensions, mental health situation, advantages and disadvantages on online teaching learning method, Connectivity with each other, health and hazard issues, misery of school and college students, and above all the uncertainty in their future life oh higher education or employment. The second day of the webinar was with the expert, Dr. Debadeepa Banerjee from Bethun College, Kolkata. She has addressed and analysed the students’ view points. The counseling session was very much requirement of our mental health need and challenges imposed by covid-19 with the widespread psychological spectrum. The generous suggestions of Dr. Banerjee were really helpful to come out from the mental agony or distress due to Covid-19 pandemic. The filled up feedback forms of the webinar was received from the participants have made the event successful and the organizers are well satisfied that this webinar might be helpful to some extent to enrich the thrust of knowledge and to make some desirable changes on our daily life.
