On the 26th of February 2020, The Bhawanipur Education Society College hosted the final round of their first ever inter-college Open Mic event. The event witnessed amateur artists from various colleges bring forward their emotions in the form of shayaris, poetries and various other original compositions – including songs, ghazals, raps and more.
Hosts for the event, Anjali Dubey and Kumar Shashank – second year B.Com honours students of the college, beautifully managed to pull off the show. Samrat Ghosh – another student of the B. Com honours department, coordinated the technical requirements.
As many as 50 participants from different colleges participated, making the event a huge success. The event commenced with an amazing performance by the two contestants – Ritesh Roy and Nitin De, on the theme song of the iconic American sitcom of the 90’s – “F.R.I.E.N.D.S”.
Shortly thereafter, Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs extended his heartfelt greetings and wishes in the form of a warm speech. The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Meenakshi Chaturvedi and Prof. Vasundhara Mishra performing. The stunning ambience along with such beautiful writeups by the writers of tomorrow were no less to make the day worth remembering.
Some of the top performers of the show were Anjali Dubey, Yash Khandelwal, Shivam Khetan, Harsh and Shamuel Ibrahim. Their performances left everyone speechless and awestruck. These top 5 performers were rewarded by Prof. Vasundhara Mishra, who then spoke a few words about the event and on this very note, the finals of the Open Mic 2020 came to an end.
