On the 17th of March 2023, The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a Seminar on Management Studies in India & Abroad. Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs enlightened the students on the stress one undergoes in selecting colleges while planning for Higher Education. Furthermore, he shed light on how one can mitigate the risk of a pitfall for a student. Lastly, Prof. Shah, inviting the guest speakers, said that “All extraordinary achievements are achieved by ordinary people”, implying that one’s success depends upon one’s focus, resilience, and perseverance.
The speaker, Mr. Ratan Kumar Mukherjee, General Manager, Operations from Global Reach having 32 years of association, laid emphasis on Business Schools situated outside India. Multiple colleges situated across the world were discussed, and they explained to the students how the process of immigration, accommodation, and student loan is, lastly their session was summed up with a round of quizzes with the students engaging them to think of Higher Education abroad.
At 3.00 pm Mrs. Madhumita Chatterji, an Alumnus and Gold Medalist of Jadavpur University, an MBA, MA, and Ph.D. degree holder from the same alumnus addressed the gathering. She is also an accomplished author of books like ‘The Ksatriyas in Ancient India,’ ‘Corporate Social Responsibility,’ ‘Ethical Leadership – Indian and European Spiritual Approaches.’ She is currently the Director of ABBS School of Management (Acharya Bangalore B School). Mr. Upadhyay is an IIM Indore Alumnus; he was a scholar from St. Xaviers College and is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Management from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. They mainly deliberated upon decision-making and ways to stay positive in an unhealthy working environment. They also conducted an excellent psychometric test through which the speakers could analyze the psychological behavior of the students. The speakers had a very dynamic approach in their session and went beyond the conventional means of analyzing a student’s ability, with this approach they established a link with their career.
Both sessions ended at 3.30 pm and the students were highly motivated to make decisions based on this newly acquired knowledge and make their Higher Education decisions better informed.
