Objective of the event: To promote the students’ physical and mental well-being through yoga.
Brief description of the event: On June 20, 2024, the NSS unit, in collaboration with Sapgachi Humanity for You & Me (HUM), celebrated International Yoga Day with the children of Panch Darshiya Vidyalaya, Tiljala. The event aimed to promote the physical and mental well-being of the students through the practice of yoga. The celebration was graced by the presence of a trained yoga teacher, Ms. Manasi Halder, who conducted a comprehensive yoga session for the children. Ms. Halder introduced the students to various asanas (yoga postures) and explained the numerous benefits of incorporating yoga into their daily routines. The session was interactive and engaging, with Ms. Halder demonstrating each asana and guiding the children through the correct techniques. The children participated enthusiastically, showing great interest in learning and practicing the different yoga postures. Ms. Halder emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical health, improving concentration, and reducing stress. She also shared tips on how to practice yoga safely and effectively at home.
Outcome of the event: The children were taught simple breathing exercises to help them relax and focus.
