Objective of the event: To introduce children to the practice and benefits of yoga and to promote physical fitness, focus, and emotional well-being.
Brief description of the event: The celebration began with the arrival of the yoga instructors and volunteers at Save the Children, Thakurpukur, where children were introduced to yoga in a fun and structured format. Participants practiced various yoga asanas such as Trikonasana, Vrikshasana, Tadasana, Utkatasana, Baddha Konasana, and Dhanurasana. The instructors guided the children through each pose, highlighting the physical and mental benefits associated with them. In addition to the session, short fitness talks were held to help children understand the importance of yoga in daily life. NSS volunteers assisted throughout, ensuring a joyful, safe, and supportive learning experience for all.
Outcome of the event: The children responded with enthusiasm and active participation, gaining confidence and awareness about yoga. The event encouraged mindfulness and introduced yoga as a positive daily habit.
