On the 13th of May 2023, the Internal Complaints Committee of the college organised a seminar on “Gender Image and Representation” in the second-floor auditorium of the college. The distinguished speaker for the afternoon was Dr. Bratati Dey, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Dhruba Chand Halder College. She was able to do justice to the topic for discussion being specialised in the area of gender and sexuality and cultural studies. The Teacher-in-Charge, Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay graced the occasion with his presence and rightly set the tone for the programme with the opening address. The participants were sensitised and the interactive session was conducted by the presiding officer of the committee, Dr. Joyeta Bhadury, where teacher and student participants raised several interesting issues, questions, and observations. Finally, the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Atreyee Ganguly.
