On 12th September, Monday, Eco for Be-ites collective of the Bhawanipur Education Society College conducted a seminar on case study & it’s application. Prof. Samprit Chakraborty, Dean academics of IBS Kolkata along with Mr. Abhishek Kundu- DGM east were the speakers of the event. They were accompanied by Mr. Tathagata Banerjee- Chief Manager IBS and Prof. Shubhananda Dey.
This 2-hour session proved to be very helpful for all the participants to understand the intricacies of a case study and the various approach to attain a near-perfect solution. Prof. Samprit Chakraborty and Mr. Abhishek Kundu gave the students a gist of what case study is and how it helps to tackle a problem holistically. They guided the students about how secondary cases can be related to primary cases and help them see how the complexities of real-life influence decisions.
A very interesting model of case study was provided to the students named as SA PA DA PPA Model that could be used to solve any life situation.
The speakers explained case study in a very interactive manner and made sure it was not boring for the students. Their expertise proved to helpful in encouraging students to know more about case study and its application. The event is yet to be continued on 16th of September where the students will be competing against each other in a group of 3. The students will have to fill in the shoes of an executive and save their company from the given crisis and pitch their solution to save their company.
This event is a key for students to win their chance to represent the College in an intercollege competition “ECOGNITE-2.0” along with a winner’s certificate and a chance to give an onstage presentation.
All in all, it was a very informative event that filled the students with knowledge and was made super interesting.

On 7th * 8th September 2015, The Department of Games and Sports, conducted an Intra College Single’s Badminton Tournament at Y.M.C.A. (Chowringhee Branch) Kolkata. 263 boys and 97 girls participated in the tournament. The Tournament was held on knockout basis and was also the selection’s for the College Badminton Team 2015-16.
