Objective of the Activity: The objective of CRTAM 2025 was to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and students to engage in intellectual discussions on contemporary mathematical research, ranging from theoretical foundations to interdisciplinary applications. The seminar aimed to foster collaborative research culture, highlight the relevance of mathematics in modern scientific domains, and inspire young minds to contribute to the growing field of applied mathematics.
Brief Description of the Activity: The Department of Mathematics of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized the National Seminar on Contemporary Research in Theoretical & Applicable Mathematics (CRTAM 2025) on 23rd August 2025 at the Society Hall (2nd Floor). The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of eminent mathematicians, faculty members, research scholars, and students.
The program began with Registration and High Tea (10:00 AM – 10:30 AM), followed by the Inaugural Session (10:30 AM – 11:00 AM). The session included felicitation of dignitaries, inauguration by watering a plant, and welcome addresses by Dr. Nirabhra Basu (Convener, CRTAM 2025), Dr. Subhabrata Ganguly (Teacher-in-Charge, The BES College), and several distinguished speakers including Prof. Arindam Bhattacharyya (Secretary, CMS & Professor, Jadavpur University), Dr. Anupa Ghosh (IQAC Coordinator), Mr. Dilip Shah (Rector & Dean of Students’ Affairs), Dr. Samir Kanti Datta (Dean of Science), and Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar (Vice-Principal, Science).
The academic sessions started with a Plenary Talk (11:00 AM – 11:50 AM) delivered by Prof. Samiran Ghosh (University of Calcutta), chaired by Prof. Arindam Bhattacharyya. His lecture titled ‘A Pedestrian’s Approach to Nonlinear Wave and Wave Breaking with Applications’ provided deep insights into nonlinear dynamics with applied perspectives.
The Invited Talk – I (11:50 AM – 12:40 PM) was delivered by Dr. Sabyasachi Mondal (North Eastern Hill University) on ‘Entropy Generation of an Engine Oil-Based Magnetized Hybrid Nanofluid between Two Disks using Spectral Method’, chaired by Dr. Sumana Pal (Aliah University).
The Invited Talk – II (12:40 PM – 1:30 PM) was presented by Dr. Koushik Ghosh (University Institute of Technology, Burdwan University & Editorial Secretary, CMS) on ‘Complexity in Solar Internal Dynamics: Leveraging Data Science to Comprehend the Hidden Dynamics of Solar Signals’. The session was chaired by Dr. Bablu Biswas, Assistant Professor, P. N. Das College & Treasurer,CMS.
After the Lunch Break (1:30 PM – 2:30 PM), the afternoon was scheduled for Parallel Paper Presentation Sessions (2:30 PM – 4:20 PM).
Paper presentation Session I (Society Hall, 2nd Floor) chaired by Dr. Sabyasachi Mondal, witnessed thought-provoking papers on mathematical modeling, chaos in finance, δs-closed sets, Monte Carlo methods, manifold geometry, and solar magnetic field data analysis.
Paper presentation Session II (Room 235, 2nd Floor) chaired by Dr. Koushik Ghosh, included diverse presentations on prime number investigations, Kähler Norden manifolds, trans-Sasakian structures, sequence convergence, λ-statistical soft convergence, meromorphic function analysis, Banach space contractions, HIV-HTLV co-infection modeling, turbulence dynamics, supply chain optimization, and predator-prey models with control measures.
Following a short Tea Break (4:20 PM – 4:30 PM), the seminar concluded with the Valedictory Session (4:30 PM – 5:00 PM). Awards for the Best Paper Presenters (researchers) were distributed along with certificates to all participants. Mr. Lokenath Ganguly received the 1st Prize and Mr. Sourav Chowdhury received the 2nd Prize for Best Paper Presenter.
The session ended with participants’ feedback and a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bablu Biswas (Joint Convener, CRTAM 2025 & Treasurer, CMS) and Dr. Payel Karmakar (Convener, CRTAM 2025, The BES College).
Outcome of the Activity: The seminar successfully created a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing and academic dialogue in mathematics. Eminent speakers enriched participants with insights into advanced research areas, particularly in nonlinear dynamics, nanofluids, solar internal complexity, and data-driven modelling. The paper presentations encouraged researchers and students to showcase their innovative work, promoting critical thinking and collaborative research.
CRTAM 2025 highlighted the interdisciplinary scope of mathematics and its applications in real-world problem-solving, inspiring participants to pursue further research with a global perspective.
