G. Vasant Rajlu Naidu student of 3rd Year B.Com created a new record for our college in the Calcutta University Athletics Tournament 2018-19 by securing 1st place in 200 metres race completing in 23.8 seconds and securing 2nd place in the 100 metres race completing in 10.9 seconds. The current men’s world record in 200 metres race is 19.19 seconds & 100 metres race is 9.58 seconds set by Jamaica’s Usain Bolt in 2009 World Athletics Championships final in Berlin, Germany.
Hope one day G. Vasant Rajlu Naidu will break the world record and will make our college and nation proud. Further he has also been selected in the Calcutta University Athletics Team 2018-19 and will be participating in the All India Inter College Athletics Tournament 2018-19 at Mangalore from 21st November 2018. We wish him every success with the next phase of his playing career.
