Kolkata April 19th, 2017.The Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) signed an MOU to offer students an array of professional courses aimed at providing them with the necessary wherewithal to integrate themselves and meet the demands emanating from the industrial establishments. Among the courses that will be immediately offered consequent upon the signing of the MoU will be the comprehensive course offered by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
“This is the first step towards the pursuit of greater global integration of the institution” said Prof Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs of BESC “and henceforth, our efforts will be aimed at providing BESC students the best opportunities that will empower them to emerge as globally deployable knowledge warriors, professionals capable of dominating their domains of expertise irrespective of geographical constraints.”
In the near future, BESC has also set on motion moves to launch integrated M.Com International Financial Accounting with ACCA and students will be able to secure BSc (H) from the Oxford Brookes University. Willing students will also be awarded M.Sc degrees by the University of London, pursuant to the submission of relevant Research Papers.
B.Sc (Hons) in Applied Accounting, whose degree will be awarded by the Similarly, M.Sc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London will also be offered to the students in the near future.
“It will be a win-win situation for the students who will have access to globally recognised qualifications with all the attendant benefits even as they attend the classes from within the confines of their home campus in BESC” said Miraj D. Shah, the Vice Chairman of BESC. “This is also a vindication of sorts for BESC and it is a matter of great happiness that the state of the art campus that we have painstakingly built over the years not to mention the quality of education imparted by our faculty is being acknowledged by educationists and global professional bodies”.
It will not be out of place to mention here that BESC is perhaps the only institution of its kind which has MoU’s in place with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). A similar agreement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is also under process.BESC, which is celebrating its 50th year of being, is a premier city based institution and has curved out a distinct niche for itself as a forerunner in the field of Commerce.

Colloquium, conceived by the Arts Section of the college as a multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual journal, seeks to publish scholarly articles on cross-cutting issues, viewed from the perspective of the liberal arts. It is a maiden attempt in the history of the college to bring out a peer reviewed annual journal, bearing an ISSN number.
On 22nd September 2014, the students of the Dept. of Business Administration Bhawanipur Education Society College went for an Industrial Visit to the Pepsi Company franchisee factory (Varun Beverages Pvt.Ltd – the Flagship of the RKG group) located at Kamalgazi., Kolkata.
