In today’s modern world, where workplaces require more than just conventional skills, students often find themselves searching for what to learn in order to sharpen their skills and presence in the corporate workplace. To raise awareness about the soft skills and programs one needs to learn in order to properly fit into today’s corporate environment, The Bhawanipur Education Society College, in collaboration with EY GDS, hosted a digital diversity workshop called “EY Digiversity Workshop” from 9th February 2026 to 13th February 2026. Industry experts and trained professionals came together to provide students with a platform to learn and gain off-the-books skills that would help them stand out and excel in the workplace.
The event took place in the Concept Hall of The Bhawanipur Education Society College, where it saw a participation of over 55 students, including students from The Bhawanipur Education Society College, St. Xavier’s University, and The Heritage College.
The agenda for the event was clear: to give students a chance to gain hands-on experience and training in certain software tools that have evolved into necessary resources in today’s corporate world. The event, planned over three days, followed the itinerary below:
Day 1 – The trainers introduced the students to MS Excel Macros and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The first day was more than just an introductory session, as the students learned in depth about the basics of the software and how to navigate through it to achieve the desired results.
Day 2 – The second day witnessed the trainers assigning tasks and sharing intermediate working tips with the students regarding VBA, as the students became more familiar with it. They also introduced the use of Microsoft Copilot to facilitate and simplify the use of VBA.
Day 3 – The third day engaged the students in learning about Power BI, a scalable unified platform for Business Intelligence (BI). Learning about such a powerful software that can enhance one’s understanding of business analytics proved not only useful but also a skill that could benefit them for a lifetime.
However, simple learning was not the only part of the workshop. The students were divided into groups and asked to develop fully functioning programs for the final evaluation.
On 13th February 2026, the campus was graced by the presence of two renowned industry experts, Mr. Arijit Dey and Ms. Payal Saraf Kandhari, both professionals from EY, who came to the workshop to assess the progress made by the students. The student groups presented their work before them. The experts provided constructive feedback and practical suggestions to each group, helping them refine their work and strengthen their understanding.
The event was a clear success in achieving its objective, which was to provide students with an opportunity to learn about software tools that are increasingly becoming necessities in today’s corporate world, while also offering them a valuable platform to interact with and learn from real industry experts. Students from all the participating colleges concluded the workshop on a positive note, having gained valuable knowledge and skills that will benefit them in their future careers.
