Objective of the event: To promote environmental awareness through a tree plantation drive and encourage sustainable green practices.
Brief description of the event: The outreach programme at Bhalobasa Sakti Sadan began at 10:00 AM on World Environment Day with the distribution of essential rations to the NGO. Volunteers then participated in a briefing session by HUM, followed by the central highlight of the event — a plantation drive, where 20 saplings, including fruit-bearing and flowering plants like mango and hibiscus, were enthusiastically planted. This symbolic and practical effort aimed at improving the environmental aesthetics of the home and promoting a greener, healthier space for the residents. A group photo was taken to commemorate the effort. The event continued with short speeches, memento distribution, and concluded with serving refreshments to the residents, fostering a spirit of care, dignity, and community service.
Outcome of the event: The programme proved to be a meaningful and impactful experience, combining environmental action with social compassion. It raised awareness about sustainable practices while reinforcing the importance of community outreach and empathy among the participants.
A factory visit to the Jacks Plastics Pvt. Ltd at Maheshtala was organized by the Shop- Floor collective of our college for the students of Commerce Plus on 20th August 2016. The students were accompanied by Prof. Diveysh Shah and Prof. Kaushik Banerjee.
